Welcome to our NEW Community Blog!
Let’s make this a “Living” page and exchange our thoughts and knowledge freely!
Everyone has their specific skill set, therefore, we all have the ability to teach or learn something new. It is always a good idea to expand our abilities to enable ourselves to “live outside the norm”. That is what emergency preparedness is all about!
What have you been up to this week??
Camp Independence was amazing! There was so much to learn. One of my most memorable experiences was having the ability to spend time visiting with Patsy Clark who provided the workshop on Edible and Medicinal Plants. She is such an inspiration to lean more of what nature has to offer. I certainly have spent quite a bit of time researching over the last week. One of the important herbs I learned about was Yarrow and all the important benefits. I am planning on finding a few to plant in my yard! What did you learn at Camp Independence? What are you working on this week to improve your preparedness?
Discovered a Native American Trail Tree in the state park.
We were able to find it as well! If you have a photo available, I would be glad to add it to the gallery! Include a description so others may understand it’s meaning!
Looking forward to seeing you, Beth!
We are looking forward to being in the Great Outdoors, now that the weather is beginning to change in our favor… This past week I spent time learning about developing a shelter outdoors with little available but Nature, to provide what I would need to survive the elements. I have much to learn, but at least spent some time trying to understand something new to me! I look forward to any input from the folks ‘in the know’. I hope to spend time keeping this blog going and learning much from the members of our group. Would be nice to find some new friends visiting our page, as well! -Lisa
