I would like to share a personal experience I recently had.
Last Friday for some odd reason, I became quite concerned about our Long Term Food and Supplies inventory. I made something of a visual inventory and decided I was going to shop to 'beef-up' our preps. I'll also mention that this was a random thought I had, with nothing in particular initiating this.
Personal Health and Survival
Will You Be Fit To Survive?
By James J. Jones, EMT/CHCM
The good news is that our internet memberships (vs paper) has increased greatly in the past two months. I see a few folks using the forum on the site, but not enogh to keep a conversation going. I hope you will log into that and start the dialogue. We now have a few overseas members. That has not happened since the early 90s and demonstrates the the survival issues we face are worldwide not just USA. Our own radio (podcast show will be starting up in a few weeks. We will let you know how to access these as soon as they are ready. You can log into www.PreparednessRadio.com to listen to three x one-hour programs that I did about survival phylosophy, public education, and survival group organization. The 45th Annual Meeting of Live Free USA is firmy scheduled for March 23rd at the Hammond Indiana Cabela's Conference Center. We welcome new officer nominations. Thanks to the internet officers need not be located near our Indiana location to fully participate.
The bad news is that we are having difficulty finding somone to update the website at a price we can so the glitches remain and some upgrades we want are still on hold.
Note: we passed a three year term limit rule that took effect in 2013. There-for I can only remain in this office (president) untill March of 2016. It's not too soon to start thinking about developing my replacement.
Oh! don't forget that Camp Independence is set for May 2-3-4 of 2014. We are still open for suggested instructors and activities.
LIVE FREE USA PROGRESS REPORT
It has been a while since I updated this blog. That’s not because things are not happening. It is because so much is going on that I am spread pretty thin. We are still working on upgrades to the website and hope to have a new site up by the end of the year. The new site will have more articles and downloads, more contributors, more inks and hopefully some ads and revenue sources. You will also note that we added two more pages to the American Survivor newsletter. This allows us to accommodate limited advertisement and list various Live Free events and programs without cutting into information and articles. Our chapters have been very active throughout 2013 with dozens of seminars, camps and expos. Several new chapters have been organized this year and several existing groups are considering affiliation. A few chapters are actually developing survival training facilities and even branch off new groups. Paid advertising and free promotions continue to build our national membership and chapter network. We are running display ads in Survivalist Magazine as well as having done some feature articles and an on-line webcast. We are a featured organization on the American Preppers Network where we also have a blog and are running banner ads. We did three one-hour podcast on the Preparedness Radio Network and will be doing a regular Radio Live Free program starting soon. Memberships, funds and contacts gained from this high-visibility will be used to support chapters, and build the movement. We approach 2014 in very solid shape. Camp Independence 2014 In Northern Indiana on May 2-4 should be even bigger and better than last year. We are open for guest speakers and group registration. Official registration for cabins will start in January. Registration cost will probably go up, but Live Free membership discounts will apply. We also plan to sponsor or cosponsor several Preparedness Expo and American Gathering events throughout the year. We must hope that we can elect further active directors and deputy directors at the Annual Meeting in March 2014 to enable us to expand our activities and sustain our growth into the decade. We are “on mission” and building with our members, supporters, chapters and affiliations. Thank you all for your past and future support.
